The South Coast Charity Challenge
Jersey Mencap South Coast Charity Challenge - Sunday May 20th 2012
EVENT INFORMATION
The South Coast Charity Challenge In Aid of Jersey Mencap
What is it?
It’s a family & company event
A sponsored walk in aid of local charity Jersey Mencap
It is a sponsored event along the South coast of the island of Jersey that aims to raise as much money as possible for the locally based charity ‘Jersey Mencap’ who work with people with learning disabilities in Jersey.
The Event goes anticlockwise, starting at the car Park by Le Rocque Harbour and finishes at Corbiere.
There are 3 checkpoints (with refreshments) at Havre des Pas (near Hotel La Plage), Bel Royal and Corbiere, plus 2 additional refreshment stops (St Aubins and St Brelades Parish Church) for a rest and a drink
It is an individual walking event
Your bag is transported for you from the start to half way (car park at Bel Royal) and then on to the finish at Corbiere.
It should be great fun, a good challenge and a worthwhile event, helping to support those less fortunate in our society. We also hope to raise a significant sum of money for the charity to further its work and to assist people with Learning disabilities.
How long is it?
The total distance is approximately 15 miles. However, the walk is not about every walker completing the course, but about every single walker achieving their personal goal. You can walk as little or as much of the course as you wish.
To register of for more information please contact the Jersey Mencap Office on Tel: 866622 or email us
Please Note: As well as the La Rocque to Corbiere Challenge we are also having a shorter challenge from Bel Royal to West Park and back for anyone who for any reason cannot complete the longer walk
